The campaign for the prevention and cure of female tumours supporting research at Molinette hospital.
Turin’s Fondazione Ricerca Molinette dedicates the months of April and May 2019 to the prevention and research into breast cancer via the campaign Donne per le Donne.
A photo exhibition, sports events, fairtrade goods and healthy cuisine: these are just some of the campaign’s proposals aimed at raising awareness and money for medical research into a pathology that affects one in eight women: breast tumour.
The campaign’s first “action” is a photo exhibition, set up with the help of photographer Barbara Oggero and female students of the Holden School depicting the stories of women who populate Molinette Hospital: doctors, nurses, admin staff, researchers, patients. The exhibition is open to the public from 4 to 29 April at COES - Centro Oncologico ed Ematologico Subalpino dell’Ospedale Molinette (ground floor, entrance in via Cherasco 15).
The second area of actions regards nutrition and its role in preventing female tumours. It will be the subject of a dinner/lesson with Dr. Etta Finocchiaro, a specialist in Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences to raise awareness and funds and will be held on 8 May at Let’s Kuk (in via Alfieri 6/b Turin).
The third area of actions regards lifestyle, ie the importance of physical activity in the prevention and as an essential part of curing ongoing tumours. To raise awareness of the importance of regular physical activity and to collect funds for the campaign two sports events have been organised in collaboration with CAI-Club Alpino Italiano and Associazione Nordic Walking Andrate, to be held on 11 and 12 May respectively.
The campaign culminates in a gala dinner at Fondazione Ricerca Molinette at Castello di Moncalieri on 28 May 2019.
