For the 2019 edition of the historical music festival MITO SettembreMusica, "Mito per la Città" is back from 4 to 19 September in various neighbourhoods of the city.
The press conference for MITO per la Città was held on Tuesday 3 September. Set up in 2009, the event is an extension of MITO SettembreMusica and is held in theatres, churches and spaces that make up the local fabric, offering concerts at affordable prices or free of charge in order to make music accessible even to people who don’t usually go to concert halls.
Compagnia di San Paolo supports the Turinese programme of the initiative, this year particularly focused on choral music (featuring a festive invasion of choirs in various parts of the city) and culminating in “open singing” at OGR which all citizens can take part in, with a special choir andr director to lead them.Complementary to the decentralised programme of events that includes at least three concerts in the seven city districts out of the city centre, MITO per la Città, an itinerant event, will set up musical moments in active collaboration with dynamic groups of Music College students: “almost concerts” lasting half an hour, spanning health, culture, education, social assistance and prison networks in Piedmont’s main city. According to MITO tradition, furthermore, the city will also stage short shows for children telling fairy stories through music.
Franca Fagioli of the ‘Consiglio Generale' was at the press conference on behalf of Compagnia di San Paolo.
